How the Local Rank check works.
Where does this data come from?
From Google itself. We use Google's official Places API, which returns the same public details anyone sees on Google Maps: business name, category, address, star rating, number of reviews and whether a website is linked. We don't scrape Google, and we don't read review text or anything about the people who wrote reviews.
How do you choose the businesses I'm compared with?
First we find your business on Google from the name and area you type. Then we ask Google for open businesses in the same Google category within about 3 km of you, and compare you with up to 15 of them. Permanently closed listings are left out.
How is my rank worked out?
You're ranked by number of Google reviews among those nearby businesses, with the star rating breaking ties. The score out of 100 adds three things: your reviews compared with the top 3 nearby (55 points), your star rating (30 points) and a website on your listing (15 points).
Is this the same as my position on Google Maps?
Not exactly. Google orders map results by relevance, distance and prominence, and the order changes with who is searching and where they are standing. Reviews and rating are part of prominence, and they are the part you can grow every week, so this check measures them on their own.

Why are my numbers different from what I see on Google?
Google updates review counts through the day, and we keep a result for up to 30 minutes so repeat checks load fast. If you just received reviews, check again later.
Do you save my search?
No. The business name and area are used to run the check and aren't saved. Only if you choose to unlock the full report do we keep your name, WhatsApp number and the business you checked, with your consent, as our Privacy Policy explains.
